This one isn't hunting Miles.
It was time we got a new Spider-man figure into the blog! I'm sure Spider-man 2099 would've made for the ideal figure #2099 entry, but I don't think I'll get that far.... right? The guy uses the Pizza-Spidey mold as a base, which at the time, was a great Spider-man buck. But, y'see, now every Spider-man figure that comes out is using either a version of the Sunfire Mold or a version of the Renew Your Vows mold, which makes Miguel look too thin and short next to them, just his head alone is tinier than his counterparts. Once again, at the time, this was THE Spider-man mold, but he'll look outdated next to your new Spider-man figures. Another thing... his costume is a bit more purple than blue, although, if you know your Spider-man, you'd know that his suit is supposed to be Black, but people thought the blue highlights was meant to be the actual color. Proof that it's a mistake is that during his original run, he was called the man dressed in black.
AH, the articulation... this figure was victim to a huge QC issue all across the board. While, supposedly, he has the same articulation as Pizza Spidey.... his swivel legs DON'T work. Anecdotally, some people claimed that hot water helped fix it, in my case it didn't... and other people said that trying to fix their legs with hot water only broke them. Needless to say, this issue massively hampers the poses you can get on the guy.
Spider-man 2099 is not only outdated, but also disappointing due to the QC issues.
