Action Figure #455: Star Wars the Black Series StarKiller(The Force Unleashed 3-Pack)

Rey eat your heart out, meet the original Star Wars Gary Stu.

Well... Starkiller was somewhat of a forgettable design, another buzzcut white guy in a sea of buzzcut white guys, but, but, what set Starkiller apart was his game. The Force Unleashed was supposed to be a power trip, play as the ultimate Gary Stu, who can single-handedly defeat Darth Vader and Darth Sidious. The Force Unleashed, while not the best SW game... it certainly was one of the most memorable, so I just needed StarKiller in my collection.
Well, as far as his costume goes... he was a mix of greys, browns and blacks and too much bloom, so... is he accurate to the games? Maybe! What I can tell you is that he comes with a ton of accessories. Three head sculpts, of which I only liked the neutral face, a blue saber, a slashing blue saber, a red saber and a slashing red saber.... and this is already a missed opportunity. He comes with a single hilt. Starkiller's clone would fight with two sabers, so was it so prohibitive to include a second saber hilt?  On Hasbro's defense, he comes with a rather large amount of hands, two electricity-effect hands, a force-push hand effect and a really cool looking base that I've been using with the figure ever since I got him!
On the articulation front, he is like other modern Black Series figures, with single jointed elbows and knees... no swivels anywhere. He has no ab-crunch, but his waist rests on a ball joint. He has butterfly joints too. As per usual, he is slightly shorter than the Bucky Cap mold.
The biggest issue with this figure, I feel, is his poor saber grip. He can't hold a decent grip either on the reverse grip he canonically uses... or on the normal grip he uses on the Wii/PS2 port. I cover his blade grip with transparent tape to give it more girth, and it slightly improved his grip. Regardless, this is unacceptable on a premium product.
You have to be careful with the butterfly joints because they have some slight upwards and downwards movement, which can give his shoulders a depressed look that just looks wrong.
The push effect looks wonky, and it's TOO heavy for the figure, which is kind of a shame.
I'm... I'm OK with Starkiller. The sad reality is that I think most of his accessories, while welcome, are not things I will, personally, be using. But the most basic of accessories, his hilt, is kind of a bust, and that's unacceptable considering how expensive he is as a part of a set.
