The one good female character in Naruto.
The one big truth about Naruto is that it has no real good female characters. All of them have a temper, most of them will make a comment about how handsome a character is, usually Sasuke, and many of them are relegated to support roles. Except Hinata. While her character arc is tied to Naruto, unlike Sakura's crush on Sasuke's, hers makes sense. She grows up, she evolves, she even gets named techniques that not even her cousin Neji has. Hinata is Naruto's best girl. The Naruto Figuarts line doesn't tend to disappoint barring some weird choices, like Sakura's shoulders or Sasuke's chest paint, and Hinata is no exception. The sculpt is absolutely gorgeous and spot-on to how she looks in the show. About the only negative, and trust me I'm not a gooner, this blog and my crusade against Fanservice speaks for me, but I have to mention it, is that her chest might be a bit smaller than it should, but I don't mind it. I like how the lower piece of her jacket is made out of soft plastic, unlike Naruto's hard plastic, so I'm not scared about it breaking when playing with her. You get 8 pair of hands, including fists, pressure-point hitting finger hands and the mandatory open palm hands. You also get five face plates, including a bonus DLC plate for Sage Naruto. Man, I need Sage Naruto. She also gets a alternate wind-swept hair bangs and back hair, for more epic posing, as well as her blue chakra lion hand thingies she used when protecting Naruto. You simply couldn't ask for more.
Something I didn't like about the chakra pieces is that they work like Sasuke's Chidori and not Sakura's chakra fist... they act as hands, so you have to take off her hands and slot them into the wrist pegs. I prefer when these pieces go OVER the hands, and not instead of the hands.
Articulation is nothing short of excellent. Double jointed elbows and knees, swivels on her biceps, thighs, shins and... and a poorly thought-out ball-joint between the sheens and the feet. I don't know why this is a ball joint and I don't understand how this enhances articulation at all, if anything, it makes getting her legs to stay straight harder, but hey, they are there. She has a ball jointed waist and a ball jointed ab crunch, with some small butterfly joints for a tiny bit of extra shoulder articulation. Her long her is also articulated at around the neck level, which is pretty cool for action poses. She is a pleasure to play with. She is a bit shorter than Bucky Cap, and as tall as Naruto.
I love how Hinata came out. It took painfully long for Hinata to get an action figure of any kind, but the wait was well worth it. She's been so much fun, that I'll add a few extra photos of me messing around below!
