Action Figure #392: S.H. Figuarts Sailor Mercury

  She had a blue house, dabu-di dabu-da

Well, with Sailor Mercury here, I've only got one more Sailor Senshi left!
Well... what can I say? She looks practically the same to the other Sailor Senshi but with different colors, boots and head. She comes with an alternate hair-piece that has a sky-blue visor, as well as a mini computer.
Same articulation as the rest, same size too.
Yeah... There's nothing much I can add about her, she's fine, she's a good figure and a good representation of the character, and is pretty much identical to the other three.

Action Figure #391: DC Universe Classics Mongul(Eradicator/Mongul 2-Pack)

He is not a Mongol... or is he?

A character inspired by Genghis Khan, I really don't know much about Mongul. I've seen him in a few animated series, a few Green Lantern Comics and that one time during DAROS, but other than that... I know zilch about him.
He is a beefy boy. I'm more used to him being a bit more yellow than the brown they chose for his skin tone, but maybe this is another version of the character than the one I'm familiar with? I wouldn't know, it still looks fine, just different than what I expected. The sculpt itself is very nice, he looks very imposing, and the details on his face are great, he is one grump baddy.
Sadly, the articulation is a bit lackluster. While he has the basic DCUC articulation, his arms and legs can't split sideways very far, and his torso can't turn many degrees, which makes for a stiff looking character. He is quite a bit taller than the Bucky Cap Mold.
And this is how far he can raise his arms to the sides, and how much he can turn his torso and split his legs, clearly, the guy isn't very athletic!
He is a decent figure, but he gains most of his points from how good his sculpt is, as the articulation could've been a lot better.

Action Figure #390: Marvel Legends Cloak

It's Winter over here, can I borrow a cloak?

It's about time I added Cloak to my collection! I've been putting it off because I needed other characters first, and I wanted to get him with the BAF, but I figured I could get the BAF piece by itself later on.
Well, he looks great, I'll tell you that. He's uses the Grim Reaper mold, so he is rather beefy, as he should, his arms and legs are sculpted on a more translucent black that adds to his otherworldliness, and his cape is also a bit translucent, so he looks pretty cool. I love how his cloak, the most important element, came out. He is a great looking figure...
...that can barely move. If there's ever been a case for cloth goods, this is it. There's not much you can do with Cloak without his, erm, cloak, coming undone, so hopefully you like just having him stand there, heroically. I mean, he tends to be mostly a support character, teleporting heroes and villains from place to place, but, c'mon, I want to have him be able to punch Silvermane! That said, you could probably undo the button at his collar, and have the cloak over his arms if you want to have him on a more dynamic pose.
Also, you can pop out his head from the body, and carefully place the head over the cloak and have other characters come out from under him, which looks so cool! There should've been some way to connect the head to cloak, as this is how he tends to be depicted in the comic books, but hey, you can do it!
Well... He gets the job done, but... I'll be there day one if they ever choose to re-release this figure with soft goods.

Action Figure #389: DC Super Heroes Two-Face

It's more like one face, but with two sides.

Two-Face was for my money one of the more iconic villains from Batman: TAS, and I'd say that, just as it did for other villains, the way he looked there would influence his other depictions, since he used to be a bit more colorful in the comics... so this is the figure of Two-Face I went for, as it seems similar to how he looked in Batman The Dark Knight Rises crossed with TAS.
He is yet another DCUC figure in the suited mold, which makes him look a bit lanky, but I guess it works for him. I suggested not going for two-handed poses with his tommy-gun, as he wields it much better in one hand. The burned side of his face looks appropriately nasty.
Articulation is... you know it by now, and the size is slightly taller than the Bucky-Cap mold, albeit with different proportions.
Y'know, I'm quite happy with this Two-Face figure. It's not the best it could be, but I think they managed to get him quite right with the molds they were using at the time.

July's second Haul

  Seems DC won.

Writing about my figures made me realize something... I desperately needed Cloak in my collection. Also a bunch of DC Figures, including my second ever Mafex and... yes, Sailor Mercury. Only Sailor Jupiter to go!

Action Figure #388: Marvel Legends Ka-Zar(Zabu Wave)

  Marvel's answer to Tarzan.

Ka-Zar has had more than a few run-ins with Spidey so I've been looking forwards to owning this guy. With him and Zabu having new figures, now we only need a new Shanna the She-Devil
Well, he is a naked guy, so how much can you really do with him, right? He comes with 3 different set of hands, and the ones he uses to handle his spear and knife are... trigger hands. Why was he given trigger hands? Beats me. I'm not too fond of his headsculpt, it looks a bit too 80's comic book manly, while I always imagined Ka-Zar to be a bit more youthful. His furry skirt is actually made of rubber plastic and hangs over his waist, but it's placed there very securely and won't fall any time soon. It has a holder on its back in which you can place either his knife or his spear.
The guy is built on Vulcan's mold, so he has all the articulation you'd expect from the buck. The only issue you may come around is that spinning his torso will bend the rubbery skirt, which is a bit disappointing. The arms were a bit gummy, but not as bad as Jack O'Lantern's, so I'm not too worried about them.
This is the problem with the skirt.
And since he uses Vulcan buck's... you get that split on his forearm, which I don't mind on spandex-wearing heroes, but it's a bit harder to ignore on flesh.
Kazar is alright. Some things could've been done better, such as better engineering on the skirt, using other forearms and giving him proper gripping hands, but that aside I'm satisfied with the figure.

Action Figure #387: Marvel Legends Red Widow

So... that makes her the communist widow?

Well, the Red Widow is another character I know nothing about, but I thought she looked kinda cool and that she would look really neat next to Daredevil and Elektra.
And, well, she looks cool. She has this badass cape that looks really cool on her, and she comes with the same weapon as King Daredevil. She has some belts and leg straps, but, sadly, they are not sculpted and just hang loose over her... which kinda sucks, c'mon Hasbro, you've been doing such a good job at getting rid of the loose straps. Apparently, her right should comes out of her cape, but for the figure instead of punching in a hole, they just molded the shoulder onto the game, which ends up looking a bit silly. And, y'know, even though I know nothing about the character, I do think that the character looks very badass.
She's on the Shriek mold, so pinless joints and the usual articulation that comes with the figure... except that her cape let's her pose only slightly ever so much more than their recent Emma Frost. As an action figure, this is a joke. You can barely do anything with her arms, she's never going to strike any cool or dynamic poses like this, and taking off the cloak doesn't help one bit because she ends up looking stupid
Look, plastic capes are fine, they are, but some characters just can't work as action figures without a cloth cape, and this is one such case. I really hate this action figure, which is a shame because I did like her design, but she barely works as an action figure.

Action Figure #386: Marvel Legends Wolfsbane

  The goodest of girl's.

How much do I know about Wolfsbane? Absolutely nothing. She was part of X-Factor or X-Force or one of the many X-Something I never ever read. I think she appeared alongside... X-Calibur, was it?, during X-Ecutioner's Song, but that's it.
While she looks like a Tigra recycle-job, she's actually using modified limbs that have tufts of hair on the shins and forearms, making her a different figure. I don't know how accurate she is to the character, but aside from the goofy-looking Wolverine hairdo, I think she's fine. She comes with a pair of fists, but bestial characters look better with claws! She had some sculpted belts on her waist that look quite nice.
On the articulation end of things, she uses the Shriek mold as a base, so she's as articulated as that buck. The shoulder-sleeves do get in the way a bit when you rotate the arms, but it's not too bad. Due to the molded hair tufts, her knees can't bend as much as, say, Tigra, but she loses, what, 10 degrees of range at most?
This is what I meant about the shins. She's slightly shorter than Bucky Cap, but her hair-ends put her at the same height, if not a touch taller!
She's... she's not my cup of tea, y'know? I don't have feelings toward the character, I don't care about her and I think she looks a bit goofy, but as an action figure she's more than fine.

Action Figure #385: DC Collectibles New 52 Super- Villains DeathStroke

  He ain't Deadpool... I think.

It was high time I got myself a Deathstroke figure. There were plenty of options, but while I wanted one in the six inch scale, I also wanted something more modern than DCUC. If New 52 did something right, it was most of the redesigns. Let's just ignore Lobo's, Green Arrow's and Nightwing's!
As per usual with DC Collectibles, the sculpt is phenomenal. He's got a ton of details everywhere, from the scales to all the straps and thingies adorning him. He is a badass looking figure, just the Deathstroke my collection needed. As with other DC collectibles, he is very tall, on the upper range of the six inch scale, but him being a literal super human... looks perfect like this. He comes with a sword, a knife and a gun... sadly, the gun and sword holsters are terrible, so his weapons keep falling off... and his hands can't get a good grip on his weapons either.
The articulation is better than you'd expect from the line. In addition to the ball jointed shoulders, he has bicep swivels and thigh swivels. You can turn his gauntlets and his feet have hinges too, but even better, the pauldrons can go up, thus allowing him to raise his arms! Sadly, his legs still can't move to the sides.
As mentioned above, the pauldrons can go upwards!
The gun holster is horrible, that can't hold his gun!
His hands can't get a good grip on his weapons, the gun even has a molded trigger, but no trigger finger!
.... until I gave him one. Now he holds the gun much better than before.
Due to his size and bulk, posing him alongside his arch enemy Nightwing is so much fun, particularly Mafex's!
The articulation is still subpar, but it's probably the best DC Collectibles figure I own. Honestly, he looks amazing, and I've had fun with him despite his various issues.

Action Figure #384: Mafex Nightwing

  My first Mafex!

Since Nightwing is my favorite superhero 'n' everything... I've eyed this figure for a while now, but it's always been outta my budget... until my crappy ex decided to dump me! Again!
Well, what can I say? The guy looks amazing, he does. He has a very athletic, but not overly muscular build that fits him very nicely, and he comes with more hands you'll ever need. He also includes a stand, two kali sticks, two kali sticks connected with a bendy wire, an incredible pair of hands twirling sticks, an alternate head and an alternate back piece that can hold his sticks. You are definitely getting your money's worth out of this guy.
Articulation wise you get butterfly joints, ball jointed ab crunch and waist, bicep swivels and ball joints on the shoulders and hips, the hips can be dropped down for extra range, and he has double jointed knees and elbows. The feet can pivot, and the wrists are on ball joints too. While it could be slightly better, he has a lot of range, and I've had a ton of fun posing him. I had a few small issues with him. The ab crunch could've definitely been better, but when I play with his torso, sometimes the waist ball joint comes off. The right leg was also dangerously squeaky, so I had to oil it up. He's on the lower end of the six inch scale, so he is almost as tall as the Bucky Cap mold/
A tiny issue with the butterfly joints is that they can turn a bit too much, which breaks up his blue symbol. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning.
Next to my other two 6 inch Nightwings. Not as overly muscular as DCUC's, but not as slim as Icons', he's just right.
I love this fig. I've been playing non-stop with him since I got him, and I had a lot of fun posing him with DeathStroke(Spoilers!).

July's Haul

 Marvel VS DC
And I've still a few more Zabu Wave figures to ship home, oh well, Customs just have to make it extra hard. And I've been needing a Deathstroke for a while now, and this one is the coolest one I think.
