Action Figure #148: Marvel Legends X-Men '97 Goblin Queen

Not related to the Green Goblin.

For a moment, it seems as if we'd never get a Goblin Queen figure because her design has always been a bit too risque for modern-day Hasbro. So even if X-Men '97 wasn't such an excellent series, I'd still be thankful to it that we finally got a Madelyne Pryor figure... and, to be honest... I much rather have this design over her glorified black bikini.
There's a lot to like here. The body sculpt looks great, the headsculpt is great, the likeness is almost perfect. Almost, because Hasbro decided to be cowards and painted her legs black. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt because they've done exposed legs in female figures before, so I'm thinking that maybe they based her off on unfinished designs. She comes with those annoying tiny heels that make certain female figures impossible to stand, but, in her case, you can use her pointy cape as a  prod to help her maintain certain poses. She comes with three accessories of note... one of the ugliest accessories I've ever seen and I'm never going to use, her baby, and two turquoise  energy effects for her arms... which are amazing because they are identical to Chasm's(Spoilers!), the guy she teamed up with in the comics. And something I really like about her is that she doesn't have any cell-shading or any major giveaway, besides the costume, that she's from the animated-show, so you can perfectly mix her in with your comic Marvel Legends.
Articulation is, well, she's clearly on the Shriek sculpt, so she gets double-jointed knees and elbows. See, Hasbro? You are almost there with your female figures, if we can only get them torso AND waist articulation.... regardless, Madelyne is missing any kind of waist joint, but she can spin her torso on a ball joint. I felt that her legs were a bit stiff on the pelvis, and maybe didn't have enough range for proper kicks. Now why would a powerful telepath be kicking? I don't know, but I'd like the option!
It took a long while for us to get a Madelyne figure, but finally it's here and... it's really freakin' great. With her cape, the heels are almost a non-issue, and she looks really cool.
