I didn't need to zerg rush the store to get this one.
Well, seems NECA is now a mainstay in my collection, and I just discovered they made these really cool looking Heroes of the Storm figures, so, to give this guys a try, we are starting off with Nova because she was on the cheap side.NECA's forte are sculpts, and this is no exception. The sculpt is really good, full of detail and not loose parts anywhere. The armor in particular is painted in a metallic blue that looks really nice, but had all the lines painted in black, and with accents in lighter blue and black that bring this lady to life. The only thing I hold against her is that her legs are too long, and her arms are too short, so she looks a bit weird. She comes with her huge cannon blaster, but she has some issues holding it, and good luck getting any cool looking shooting poses out of her. She also comes with an alternate right hand, one for cupping the weapon and one for pointing
The gun had a peg that would slot on Nova's hand, but... it kinda broke, and now it's stuck on Nova's hand and I have to slot her on the weapon. In any way, she was never able to hold her weapon very firmly.
Articulation... it kinda sucks. Her knees are duble jointed, but her arms are not. She has a ball jointed ab crunch, but it barely has any range, and no waist articulation whatsoever. The hips have ball joints, and they have very good range, the arms can go up to the sides up to a point.. go beyond and the arm pops out!
This is as far as she can bend her arms. Pathetic! She is a bit shorter than Bucky Cap.
How to score her? The sculpt is good, no doubt about it, but she's hard to pose, it's hard to even get cool shooting poses out of her due to how bad the range on her arms are, not to mention how short they are... so.. yeah, she's kinda bleh.
