Action Figure #153: Marvel Legends X-Men '97 Jean Grey

  Girl's not grey.

And the last good thing that X-Men did for action figures, at least so far, was to get us a good all-around Jean Grey figure.
So, there's no perfect ML of Jean Grey, at least not to my tastes. Why is this one better than the previous two? The head sculpt. The previous two had either a derpy face or a sad face. These two head sculps are gorgeous, that's as far as the sculpt goes, anyways. But how do the previous releases surpass this one? The body. These one has a softer look to her armored outfit, which doesn't look as cool. Then there's the paint... the other two have more saturated blues and oranges, which look much better than these softer, pastel-like hues. That saiid, I went for this head sculpt because the other one's ponytail kept coming off.
And then there's the other give-and-take, with the articulation this time around. What this figure has are pinless joints and double-jointed arms and arm swivels, as well as a ball-jointed waist. What she is missing, however, is the ball jointed torso the other two had. So, yeah... it depends on what you prefer. But I think that while this one lost on the body... she wins in articulation.
Will there ever be a truly perfect ML Jean Grey? I don't know, but I think that, at the moment, I'll take this one over the others.
