Action Figure #823: Star Wars The Black Series Watto

 A deal's a deal, even with a dirty dealer.
For as much flak as the Internet once tried giving the Prequels, I'm glad they are finally getting re-evaluated. Because if The Phantom Menace did something right, it was introducing us in ONE movie too much more different alien races than the entire Original Trilogy combined did. And one of the most iconic of these were Watto the salesman, Anakin's owner. I never thought I'd want a Watto figure, but the moment the pre-order came up I was there.
Somebody out there must really love Watto, because it shows that this figure is a labor of love. I mean, a lot of care went into sculpting this little guy, and he is a really good looking Watto. I mean, as good looking as Watto could ever be. His skin is textured all the way, with folds and warts, as well as his uneven teeth! The paint apps are great all-around, and it seems he had a matte finish, so he is not glossy at all. The only issue I had is that standing him up in a neutral position is a bit of a hassle. He comes with a flying stand, which is a bit hard to slot into his back, so you can have him flying, but if you mean to have him on the ground you're going to have to finagle his legs.

He comes with more accessories than you'd ever want! He has a tablet, a staff, two pairs of wings: One buzzing, one neutral and... a tiny dice, the one he used to bet with Qui-Gon, that I'm sure I'll lose one day!
His belt-thing has this thing that I don't know what is, but can be unhooked. To be honest, the thing barely stays in place.
I did mention the dice being tiny.
Articulation wise he is a bit... lacking, but for Watto? It's more than enough. His neck and head are on ball joints, so there's a fair amount of head articulation, albeit not as much as it could. Wings connect on ball joints, so a lot of range there for either set, his ab crunch is on a ball joint too. Arms are single-jointed, reaching a ninety degree bend, but below the waist you can only move his legs at the hips, which are connected on ball joints. No knee articulation, but the foots are hinged, and you can pivote them too. He is... quite shorter than Bucky Cap.
Well... I think Watto came out wonderful. Tons of accessories, a great likeness and good articulation for what he is. If you liked TPM, you can go no wrong with Watto.
