Action Figure #820: Dungeons & Dragons Golden Archive Gelatinous Cube

It IS a creature, so I guess it counts as an action figure?

So... the Gelatinous Cube was something I already knew about, but didn't really care about... until I came across it at a measly 15 usd. I couldn't say no to 15 usd, so... well... Here we are!
The cube is made up of six faces and 14 accessories that slot into each face. I purchased this thing new, unopened, but it seems Hasbro forgot to pack all fourteen of them because I'm missing the book! Dammit Hasbro, and I always do my best to defend you! Some of these items you can probably use with other action figures, like the axes and the bow, but others, like the potion flask, are too flattened to be useful. But still, the fact that weapons are compatible with figures is a good thimg.
This is how the cube looks once assembled. There's a proper order for each face of the cube, but it's easy to tell where goes everywhere due to the shape of the dents on the 'floor' of the cube. The big metal shied piece can be removed to have a character sticking his hand out of it, and there's a piece in the middle of the floor to hold him down.
This is how a figure looks while trapped in the gelatin. I have to say.... it looks pretty dope. The slimy texture and the transparent plastic are perfect, and the figure trapped looks amazing while inside. It's a fun gimmick, it really is. Since it's made to contain six inch figures, you can already tell that it's quite a bit larger than Bucky Cap.
To be honest, I don't know if there's a place for this toy in my displays... but the gimmick IS fun, and the look of the toy is quite alright.
