Action Figure #591: Anime Heroes Sabo

Back in black. Or rather, first in black!

As much as I love my Figuarts' Sabo, as I wrote back then, that was not my favorite look for him. This is Sabo's original, black-clad look, albeit from a different brand.
Now, then, this is an incredible looking Sabo. He looks a bit lanky and scrawny, which, incidentally, makes it a great match for Oda's art-style. The head sculpt and paint also gives us a beautiful and accurate representation of Sabo, I'd say it's spot-on. He comes with his trademark steel pipe, two gripping hands and two Dragon Claw hands, which, sadly, look a bit goofy. He has a holster on his back for the pipe. An alternate head without the hat would've been swell, but oh well!
If there's something to be said about anime heroes is that they are pretty consistent with articulation. Double jointed elbows and knees, bicep swivels and drop down hips. The waist is on a ball joint, but it works as a swivel. Overall, while not as good as Figuarts, you can still have fun with the guy. His hat makes him taller than Bucky Cap.
This is easily one of the best Anime Heroes figures this line has produced. It helps that One Piece lends itself to this simple line of figures, as Figuarts got the better and cooler Sabo, but I'd say this one is more accurate to the manga itself.
