Action Figure #596: Power Rangers Lightning Collection Beast Morphers Cybervillain Blaze

A Ranger with a title, must be nobility!

A few years ago I started collecting a few 3-4 inch Ranger figures, and I quite liked them, but I wasn't into toys back then and promptly sold them... Including the six figure set of 4 inch Beast Morphers! So I love getting Cybervillain Blaze again, because he was one of the cooler ones!
This is one cool looking ranger, probably because he is supposed to be a corrupted copy of the red ranger. While maroon and silver isn't my favorite color scheme, it works for this guy's sculpt. And I do love the sculpt, he has all sorts of neat details, and I love the soft plastic vest he wears on his upper torso. He comes with a sword, a purple energy effect, two fists, an unmasked head and some sort of computer suitcase. I haven't even watched the Sentai counterpart, so I really don't know! The only noticeable issue is that the inside of his elbow is maroon, so as for hi to have a maroon elbow, but it breaks up the silver paint on the inside of his arms, which looks wonky.
Articulation is the same as the other rangers, double jointed elbows and knees, a ball-jointed ab crunch, butterfly joints and swivels on his waist, thighs, boots and biceps. Basically, all the articulation you'd need. He is a hair shorter than Bucky Cap.
Blaze is a fantastic figure, he looks badass and is fun to pose. I would've liked a more vibrant color palette, but I guess that's just being faithful to the source material.

Action Figure #595: Star Wars The Black Series Guavian Enforcer

How does he even see through that thing?!

So, I came across this Guavian Enforcer guy and thought that he looked so cool that I just needed to figure out from which SW show or comic he came from... It was from The Force Awakens. These guys show up to harass Han when he meets up with the newbies!
I'm of two minds when it comes to this figure. Sometimes I think he does look cool, but other times he looks kinda chubby and stubby. I think a leaner frame would've made this guy look like a badass. The uniform is fine, but they dropped the ball with the helmet, as it should've been a more vibrant, and glossier, tone of red. That aside, yeah, his torso is too thick for his limbs, which makes him look kinda awkward instead of imposing. He comes with two different rifle blasters.
He is an older figure, so you know the drill. Double jointed knees and thigh swivels, but single jointed elbows with lackluster bends. His ab cruch is on a swivel... and that's about it for this guy.
The grip on his guns could've been better. The guns are very thick, but the cup he does with his hands should've been a bit wider.
Also, this is as far as he can rase his legs. Pathetic! He is shorter than Bucky Cap.
The Guavian Enforcer is not a horrible figure, but there's nothing too appealing about him, nor is he particularly fun to play with it.

Action Figure #594: Game of Thrones Legacy Collection Khal Drogo

The most important least important character from the books!

While he only appears in the very first book of A Song of Ice and Fire, Khal Drogo hasn't stopped being mentioned by Daenerys, which makes him the most important least important character in the saga!
What is a mounted warrior without their legs? Better ask Funko, 'cause their QC might be looking for the answer! This means that out of the six figures I own, only Jamie and Robb hasn't broken in any way. Jesus Christ, and a cursory search around the net shows that these issues were commonplace at the time of their release.
A few drops of super glue later, and here we are. As per usual, the sculpt and detailing on the clothes is top notch, and while the resemblance to Jason Momoa is a bit iffy, the head sculpt is still pretty good. This guy comes with two knives, that can be holstered on his sides, as well as two cool looking scimitars. The sculpting on his weapons is really good too.
He has single jointed elbows, with a very lacking bend, and double jointed knees. At one time he had swivels on his thighs too... Lastly, he seems to have a swivel at the waist, but his belly armor restricts any turning or crunching, making him a bit of a stiff! He is a bit shorter than Bucky Cap.
Same song and dance as with the rest of the line. Great sculpt, average articulation and horrible quality.

Action Figure #593: Game of Thrones Legacy Collection White Walker

Winter is here.... and it is these figures.

Well, I'm a glutton for punishment, so I decided to get a couple more figures from this line, so let's start with the White Walker, shall we?
And just as I was equipping this bony bastard with his spear... it broke!
And, because these figures and their clear joints are garbage, his wrist broke as I posed him. And, the cherry on top.... is that he came with two right biceps, as can be seen above. No wonder Funko Pops aren't articulated....
Despite how bad the quality control for these figures was, there's no denying that all the sculpts are brilliant, except the faces, and this is no exception. His blue skin is accentuated by a whitewash that highlights all the boney details. For a change, maybe because it wasn't based off of an actor's face, the head sculpt is actually really good, for a change. Even his only accessory, his spear, is very detailed, ending on a transparent, uneven, icicle end.
Legs have double jointed knees and swivels on the thighs. Arms are single jointed, with a bend that is just shy of 90 degrees. His ab crunch is on a ball joint that works more like a swivel. He is a bit taller than Bucky Cap.
As with the rest of these figures... if they weren't so brittle, they would've been SO good. But these terrible Quality Checks makes the whole line terrible.

Action Figure #592: Marvel Legends Moon Knight(Strange Tales Wave)

 He is wearing jewelry now.

While I really like the armored black and white suit Moon Knight used.... my favorite look for him was the white costume with yellow accents, meaning... this one! Actually, there are two versions of this costume, this one with the crescent moon on his chest, and another one with a golden ankh. Either was good enough for me!
This one sports the Sunfire mold, so you know that he looks amazing already. He has new bracelets, a new belt and new shin armor pieces. The belt and braces feature sculpted Egyptian decor made just for him. The gold and whit color scheme makes for such an elegant looking figure!  He comes with the usual flimsy staff MK and Gambit usually come with, the same crescent moon-berangs and a really neat new golden ankh accessory. He has two sets of hands, two gripping hands for the staff and ankh as well as two fists.... with holes for the tiny boomerangs! If the other MK figure's hands had those holes, well, I had never noticed before!
Well, same deal as with any other Sunfire mold: double jointed elbows and knees, butterfly joints, swivels on his biceps, thighs, waist and boots, as well as a hinged ab crunch. The cape is made out of soft plastic, but it doesn't hamper the articulation... nor his balance, I think. He is as tall as Bucky Cap.
While as gummy as any other current Marve Legend, this is still a solid design made on a solid buck. I love how he came out, and his accessories are great too.

Action Figure #591: Anime Heroes Sabo

Back in black. Or rather, first in black!

As much as I love my Figuarts' Sabo, as I wrote back then, that was not my favorite look for him. This is Sabo's original, black-clad look, albeit from a different brand.
Now, then, this is an incredible looking Sabo. He looks a bit lanky and scrawny, which, incidentally, makes it a great match for Oda's art-style. The head sculpt and paint also gives us a beautiful and accurate representation of Sabo, I'd say it's spot-on. He comes with his trademark steel pipe, two gripping hands and two Dragon Claw hands, which, sadly, look a bit goofy. He has a holster on his back for the pipe. An alternate head without the hat would've been swell, but oh well!
If there's something to be said about anime heroes is that they are pretty consistent with articulation. Double jointed elbows and knees, bicep swivels and drop down hips. The waist is on a ball joint, but it works as a swivel. Overall, while not as good as Figuarts, you can still have fun with the guy. His hat makes him taller than Bucky Cap.
This is easily one of the best Anime Heroes figures this line has produced. It helps that One Piece lends itself to this simple line of figures, as Figuarts got the better and cooler Sabo, but I'd say this one is more accurate to the manga itself.

Action Figure #590: Star Wars the Black Series Baze Malbus

Star Wars answer to MORE DAKKA!

It might be time for me to get the characters I'm missing from Rogue One, starting with Baze Malbus, the guy with the laser assault rifle-shotgun-thing!
Well, the sculpt is very good, very unique. Baze is a thick, over encumbered guy, and he looks the part. It captures the look of the character as well as the actor really well, and he, of course, comes with his backpack-linked gun. His grip on the gun could've been better, but it's serviceable.
He has single jointed elbows, and double jointed knees, with swivels on the thighs and a ball jointed ab crunch. The ab turn is a bit hampered by the pouches and bits on his belt, but you can finesse it a bit.
Leg articulation, sadly, is pathetic. This is as far as he can split his legs.
And this is as far as he can raise them... so forget about cool shooting poses. He is shorter than Bcky Cap.
Well, the poseabily could've been better... but at least he is a good representation of the character.

Action Figure #589: Star Wars the Black Series General Hux(Galaxy's Edge)

The Sequel's Trilogy butt-monkey somehow returned. In action figure form.

General Hux was one of the most memorable parts about the Sequel Trilogy, even if his characterization wasn't the most consistent. There are two Hux figures, one with the hat and one without it, which only came packaged with a few figured I didn't care for, so I managed to snatch him loose for a few bucks!
This is a good looking Hux figure. The body resembles that of the Imperial Officers such as Tarkin or Thragg, but all in black and with a coat on top. He looks evil, even if outside of the first movie he was relegated to comedy relief, so I dig that. The head sculpt is an accurate representation of the actor, and he comes with a small blaster gun.
He has the usual articulation of the line, with double jointed knees and thigh swivels. He has no bicep swivels and, sadly, his single jointed elbows reach just shy of a 90 degree bend. Lastly, he has a ball jointed waist. The lower end of his jacket is made out of soft plastic, so he has good range with his legs. He is a bit shorter than Bucky Cap.
Not the greatest action figure ever, but he is a good representation of Hux, and I'm glad that he is in my collection.

Action Figure #588: Power Rangers Lightning Collection Lord Zedd(Lord Zedd/Rita Repulsa 2-Pack)

Yes, those are his muscles and tendons. Cry you heart out, Robbie Williams!

I wanted a Lord Zedd, and there were two options: The original Wave 1 release or this re-release... well, the original had unpainted finger tips, so the choice was easy. That said, I bought him loose because I don't care, at least at the time of me writing this, about Rita.
Well, he looks the part! Lord Zedd is an amazing unique sculpt that Hasbro won't be able to reuse. While I would've preferred if every silver piece was sculpted onto the mold, some of them are made out of much softer plastic that is slotted onto the figure itself, and this pieces being the ones that are tied to the light-blue cables that go alongside his body. The body itself is very detailed, with tons lines and stripes to simulate muscle tissue. My one complaint are his tiny feet! The figure comes with a bunch of accessories, but since I bought him loose I only go his scepter, but otherwise, he should come with an electric effect piece, and alternate set of hands and a grenade of sorts.
Zedd is no slouch in the articulation department, he has butterfly joints, bicep swivels, thigh swivels, double jointed elbows and knees, and hinged waist and a ball jointed ab crunch. He is highly articulated, only limited by his cables.
Behold! Zedd's tiny feet. They look a bit goofy, and are my only gripe with the figure.
As it can be seen above, the cables that go from the lower spine to the wrists WILL limit some of his poses, but it's not too bad. He is a touch taller than Bucky Cap, making him taller than the Power Rangers, which I think is really cool.
Lord Zedd is one of the greatest villain designs in the history of villains, and Hasbro captured the look perfectly. A few things could've been done a bit better, but I feel it's mostly just me nitpicking. I love the guy!

Action Figure #587: Star Wars The Black Series Zaalbar

Does this make me a furry?

Zaalbar has never made it into my party in KOTOR, but you'll never find me saying no to KOTOR action figures!
For all intents and purposes, this figure is a Chewbacca reuse through and through. The paintjob is much simpler, and his only attire is his red strapped belt. He comes with a crossbow blaster, which I don't have since I bought him used, as well as KOTOR's trademark double-handed vibroblade, which looks very faithful to how it does in the game!
Articulation is the same as Chewbacca, with single jointed elbows and knees, swivels on his thighs and a ball jointed ab-crunch which works more as a swivel than anything else.Due to how the head is sculpted this guy can't turn his head, which kinda sucks for bladed poses! He is quite taller than Bucky Cap.
Zaalbar is a decent figure, but nothing special, I think. His Vibroblade is really neat, however, and I don't mind adding another Wookie into my collection.
7.0

Action Figure #586: Marvel Legends Red Hulk

 Here comes the Rhulk!

Here's a controversial character if there ever was one! When Red Hulk was first introduced he was handing out beatings by the dozen, which didn't do much to endear readers to him. But after some growing pains, I'd say that the Red Hulk has become a liked element of the Hulk mythos.
Well, he is identical to the other Hulk figure I wrote about, but red and black instead of green and purple. The head is, however, entirely different, and I kinda prefer this color scheme and this head sculp, but that's me. He too has some lighter shade of red applied on certain parts of his body. Much like the other Hulk, he comes with two fists and two open hands. Some fire effect accessories wpuld've been nice, but this is good enough.
Same height and articulation as the other Hulk.
While I prefer Banner as a character... when it comes to action figures... I think I like Red Hulk better! This red paintjob just looks more badass!
